Standon Calling 2008
30th May 2008
Held on the beautiful grounds of a 16th Century Hertfordshire manor house, Standon Calling promises a unique chance to see some of the most exciting, hotly tipped acts as they break, in one of the most magical, intimate festival settings.
Standon Calling is the ultimate independent music festival. It’s also the most fun, most fabulous summer party of the year and is gaining a reputation for celebrating the sensational, offbeat and bizarre. Partiers are led through themed worlds with spectacles, lights, sound and performance artists guiding their way. Friday sees things kick off at midday, and following an epic launch on the Friday night, the festival crescendos with the unveiling of the set-designed secret areas on Saturday night. By day, Standon is a rural country heaven - dips in the pool, a spot of ‘healing’ and hanging out with the most friendly and chilled out crowd in festival-land. (source www.standon-calling.com)
